Evaluation - First mark

The day that I was exited for! yes monologues, our auditions. wooo.
When I walked in it was atad scary I guess cause it's just you and two tutors But it's not as bad as everyone thinks it is, Either way you have to do you're monologues so just go for it.
I thought my 'ferret envy' went okish for the only reason I new I was speeding up with it I could feel it, But I did more action then the day I got up for my monologue infront of the 1st years.
My second monologue 'Anna Frank' thats got to be my best one I got feedback from goerga I apologise cause I know I've spelt you're name wrong anyhoo she said my voice was clear and there was a nice tone in it.
I know I didn't have any movement in it thats because when I try to stand up I end up looking like a man trying to get up so at last min I thought to myself Anna Frank isn't manly don't ruin her shroom!
I think I did this one the best cause I slowed it down but then again If you're nervous you end speeding up you're first one.
These two monologues I'm proud of for the only reason I've actually learn't them for once.
My third monologue 'The call' I know I haven't really learnt this one, I do remember kirsty who did say she wasn't going to do her third monologue because she hasn't learnt it *She got away with it* I, myself was going to do that as well, But then I thought to myself that I should just do it. my austrialian accent did go wrong Ha! But when I'm at home I can do it. But I have a feeling that I'm going to do in a british accent, sonya told me I have to learn the background. I used a chair for a pram thingy.
It's a good thing we get another chance of doing this. (:

Why I chose these monolouges

Why did I chose Anna Frank, At first I thought to myself that I wont be able to learn all three monlogues as last term I couldn't even learn one monologue. So I went out and looked for a simple also small monologue that I could learn in two weeks time which I did so. To me this monologue is suited to me, As I have a kinda posh voice! Plus it has no crying in it so I'm cool with that there's not alot of emotion in it either Which is good for my first monologue. SmileyHappyShroom

Why did I chose Ferret Envy, Well at first I needed a funny monologue because a shroom can't just not have a funny one. comedy is my thing I make people laugh It's my job I needed a longer one from my Anne Frank to make it more longer so it doesn't seen every monolouge I do is short, I also chose this for myself because I actually liked it I found it amusing (:

Have you ever seen the performance of this play? I atually haven't As I've looked so much on youtube, there's this one where you cant even hear the girl saying anything plus she just sat there, so it wasn't helpful. Plus I did look it up on the internet but all I found was the book, with Patricia cornellius monologue work.

have you ever seen the performance of this play? No I haven't seen the play, but I looked up my monologue for anna frank. Theres not that many on youtube I found one but she wasn't that good her voice wasn't soft enough, plus she forgot a line. so I made it my own.

if you could pick out three moments in the play that your monologues is from that shows your characters personality the best what would they be? At first I think anna frank is Rather happy she doesn't seem upset, considering shes in hiding I guess she wants to be free and have freedom, As I know they can go out in the back where there fenced in. She asks peter about Religon She believe that everyone is good at heart even the people doing bad things like hitler wanting to kill them all. She really wants to believe that everything is okay! she finds everything Lovely ot beautiful She wants to take it all in before she gets killed, as she knows It's going to happen soon.

What do you think of their work?

have you ever seen the performance of this play? I haven't seen it been done by the person who wrote it, I did e-mail her I'll copy and paste that part of the conversation we had. She told me to look on 'Youtube' for some, So I did so theirs different types of how it's been done I've got some idea's on how to perform it.

what style of performance do you think describes the play and monlogue? To me I did say it was a comedy but after I thought that I needed more help as I don't want to get a pass like I did last term I E-mailed the lady which she told me it's a twist also its a dark comedy cause she has killed a ferret but yet it had so much humour init.

If you could pick out three moments in the play that your monologues is from that shows your characters personality the best what would they be? First of my character is clearly a 'Liar' and is asking herself what would zana do? who is prolly a liar to if she's asking what she would do, I also think my charcter is 'Desparate' to please julia and to convince her that her ferret has ran away, My character told julia that the ferret had ran away so she becomes even more of a liar. My charater comes out with what she's done to the ferret at the end of it ''I'm going to just rinse this knife off and throw this little bag away'' It's obvious that she has killed the ferret. so my last word to decribe my character is 'Pysco'

where exactly is your monologue set? My monologue is set in seatle, but I'm doing mine in a british accent. so I'm making out that I've just made seatle up of the top of my head.

Improvements of monologues

My voice is the number one improvement needed I go all panto with my voice which is annoying cause I've gome through them to my pals I've notice myself if I talk normal it just doesn't work theirs no reation to my audience, sinse it's a comedy it has to funny. I need to get that across or there's no real point to why I'm doing it. But noone understand little shroom, I'm not normal. enough of that my next thing is my spead.
I really need to slow down, Well really for my Anne Frank one caus thats the one thats 1min 05sec to make it longer I need to slow it down plus pause and stand up at some point cause if I sit down I think thats when i start speading up.

GRID

Enunciation - I know fine well that people can understand me, I know how to prononce words I have a clear voice, you should know you're self that you can speak properly and prononce them you can hear you're self saying Plus you get feedback from sonya if she can't understand what you're saying she will say so.

Projection -  I know people can hear me, As I have a loud voice anyways, I make sure people can hear me if not then I have no confidance thats how I see it, If you're far to quiet then I'm guessing you're scared. Everybody gets feedback from this if noone can hear you and you have finished you're performance you have to improve on this.

Vocal tune and pece - Really need to work on thos, everytime I try I always speak sweet and soft sometimes posh but to be fair I'm sure everyone does thatbut I stand out more then others. darn my cool voice but i have tryed to change I'm not perfect and I shan't apologise for that! I just can't seem to get rid of the poshness, which bring me to the pace of my speach it needs sorting out as It's ment to be around 1min 30sec wile mine is 1min 05secs I guess I'll add much more pauses ha!

Memorising lines - 05-10-12 The day I learn't two monologues to me thats the biggest Iever! Just one more left to go. Wooo! I left the angry one last as thats going to be a challenge for me. the way I learn my lines are: Recorded myself = Everybus jurny I go on I listened to my Anna Frank on thats how I learned my first one. I did the same for ferret envy but then got bored of that, My second idea was just read it of paper on the bus over and over again! But as sonya say's you should act it out when rehearsing so I did so.

Experimenting in rehearsal - standing up and sitting down I don't like sitting in the same spot, which makes it awkward for me I'd rather be moving about dont wont to boar the people im performing to ha! I've added two chairs to my Ferret Envy monolouge si I have someone to talk to. I stand up at some point i need to change my voice! this is a example I won't do all three.

Focus/circle of public solitude -  I keep myself in a little place I dont take the whole stage as I dont need it. blnaking out the audiance is impossible for me. I know your thair simple as that. I dont have alot to say about this.

How do they contrasting?

All my monolouges are completely different, first we have 'Anne Frank' she's such a sweet girl kind harted little thing! also the type of monolouge it is I'd say a Happy/Serious one which is completely different from 'Ferret Evny' ferret envy is a funny monolouge it suits me cause funny stuff is my thing!
It's humouring haha!
of cause funny stuff is different from Anne Frank it's obvious the person on this one is kinda psyco'y wile Anne Frank ia a lovely person who doesn't want to kill anything as she's too busy trying to hide away from the germans.
Then theres mine last monologues The call-pratricia cornellus this monologue is the hardest I'd say its a angry monologue, which is hard for me as I'm you're happy chappy before you get any ideas I'm a girl :D plus it has inappropriate language in there which I for one aint comfortable with so I've gave myself a challenge this for both by far this one Has a accent in it 'Australian' I thought to myself I must step up my game, even if I don't learn the whole thing.
But either way there all different from one another as I have HappyComedyAngry

Chair Pillow


Good afternoon there.

Our first lesson with Amy #1

We did a contemporary warm-up as zumba isn't really a warm-up for what we are doing so as we stretched and then travelling across the floor, We got a chair (Everyone) at this point Amy was learning us a dance (contemporary) with a pillow so we started it and it got a bit confusing for me as half the time you can't really see Amy cause people are infront of Me, But hey it's not like anyone will see little shroom. But anyhoo it went well pretending to fling pillows about ha!
Ahh Sonya, Made us get into groups with the first years -.- scary times,We got paper with a saying on it and we had to write to compare it with acting I cant remember what ours was something about the olympics and then we had to keep swaping about with others. With more papers about acting again on what to do and what not to do, We had to go to other groups and tell them what you've learnt ECT
After that we had to get into pairs with a first year so I did so, And help one another with monologues its hard work when the other person isn't willing to do so. People read them back out to everyone. thats it. (:

Our second lesson with Amy #2

Okay at first Amy asked everyone to move into a space, which as everyone knows the back of the class is for *Sir Shroom II* But noone actually did move into a space. and therefore *Sir Shroom II* had to be moved at the front. But to fair I did find it like a big nothing not sure why everyone gets scared, Anyhoo back to the subject we did a warm-up and did alittle of travelling across the floor.

Amy then had learnt us the full dance which repeats its self over and over again -.- she had added a tad bit more where we have to run on with our chair (With the sound of the beat) We did it over and over and over untill we died :( My legs hurt.
sonya: We had to get into pairs but me and kirsty wanted one more person to join us as we were lonely we voted chelsea as we get along with her alot, I still cant seem to adjust with these newbies as they scare me and one of them think I'm aggressive which I dont understand as I havent spoken to these people -.- Idiots. back to what I was saying Us three decided we had to go in turns to show each other there monologues and help one another if it needs to be changed or to make it funny, Which we did so. I decided i wanted to a Australian monologue so I asked sonya to get me one! Three monologues completed Just need to learn them :D ooh yeah people read there monologues out, I refuse to do it cause I'm scared.

Our Third lesson with Amy #3
 
I'm a happy bunny, Today I made a new friend his name is STEV! or STEV CAKE! He owns a afro (: anyhoo back to the real thing, amy finally decided that we are allowed to do Zumba but only one it makes me sad plus we also did loads of stretches as per. I don't really find it fun but who does?. after stretches we did some travelling I'm proud of myself for the only reason 'Shroomie' actually keeps going first as the 1st years wouldn't move. *Annoying*
we got a chair again and went over the dance twice cause we got atad confused, after that we ran on with our chairs we did this another two times, then amy chose a thew people to perform it to both years so other could learn it better or to get help on how to do a move or to make it better then what the other person has done, Once one group of people did it she chose another and so on. But she wasn't so happy as people where talking through perfomance because thats just disrespeatful and other things with other big words that I can't think of. ha!
Sonya: In the session we worked on our own to do our monologues, I chose my 'Ferret envy' one as I need to learn, So then I will have learn't two, She told us to do them in different ways if it was sad make it happy or anrgy ETC but I never did this because a women who owned it told me that the really wants to be loved so she turns all killy, If you look at a past post 'Ferret envy' It has the email of what she actually said to me. we watch people do thair monologues I know we have a strong group cause the monologues where funny, We helped chelsea with hers to help her to make it even more funny and it was. You can tell people are improving theres.
But at the moment I'm still trying to think on how to do this but I'm making progress though.
Oh yeah, And we watched 1st years do thair scenes well one group, I liked it, that samuel dude has game, I need to step up my game! (:

Our fourth lesson with sonya #4
 
Yes! We normally have amy but she's i'll sp therefore sonya had to take over instead of doing the chair thing we did a workshop.
We started of being in a circle and to play some games as per, Oooo But before that we played the game where one person has the keys and the rest of both years had to try and get the keys But me and demi didn't do as we where told and went behind the curtains to get the keys which was rather amusing. The real object of the game was to work as a full team after all of that malarkey we got into the circle and two people had to get up and create some devised stuff you could choose anything even the most random thing ever, But it had to make some sort of sense which some did and some didn't.
If you had an idea you would have to shout freeze ot stop what ever floats you're boat, But anyhoo when the person had shouted it the two people in the middle would have to freeze and the person who had shouted it would have to pat someone on the shoulder and take over from that person. < I do hope this makes sense cause I have no idea what I'm writing. But this went on till sonya got bored no I joke until break.
Okay so now break is over, Hello monologues. I always choose the one I love the most, 'ferret envy' and no I ain't learned my last monologue  neither which i'll try learn it over the weekend, I did get a bit bored so I went of to help others, chelsea, which is amusing all the time. We helped her on to change little bits of it and to make it funny. After that shit we did the same as every other thursdays 'showed them back' But me being me I never showed it back.

Our fifth lesson with sonya #5
 
We had to lay down as everyone wasn't focused enough, We had to do a counting game 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 we had to get upto 10, with out failing. Ooo you think this is easy do you? well guess what it ain't if someone says the same number at the same time BOOM! Back to the begining this went on for a while. Then we had to go backwards 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 the same rules apply, Also this had went on for a while.
Next we had to do the alphabet and no I ain't typing that out! that went on far to long, people needed to slow down. when that was finally completed. we didn't have to go backwards cause where far too cool for this (:
CIRCLE TIME GUYS!
we had to play a game where you had to make eye contact with someone and walk towards them, once that person see's you looking at them you have to move and look at someone, Then sonya had added another person into this so it was going strange as some didn't know who was looking at who but anyhoo see added one more even more confusing. I know right. Jeeezz but after that. There was two more games, The one that I hate, Involves two people eye contact, Then runs at each other one rolls on the floor the other jumps over so me being me I give no eye contact. I aint risking my life. simple as that.
Last game, The stick game, More eye contact you have to walk around the room, and chuck a stick at someone but obviously they have to give eye contact or you're going to kill them with a stick there's better ways to die.
Games are over
Dance room,
first years got to rehearse their monologues while the second years had to come up with a devise peice. We came up with a train crash, and we have comedy and serious but it did go a tad bit wrong showing it all back. But hey ho! ooo yeah, I showed my monologue back yes thats right I did I did! I'm proud of myself, And so did others.

Ferret Envy By Tara Meddaugh (dark comical)

Ferret Envy
The person I'm playing is 'Little lady' all she wants is, To be taking care of, You see she is a jealous lady who wants to be loved she also wants all of the attention she can get. And the only way to do that is to kill the 'Ferret' so she can be loved by a lady called julia.
The little lady is trying to make out that the ferret has ran away to seattle and trying to presuide julia not to go looking for it.
I, myself. Think that the little lady is a tad nuts for the only reason in the monlogue further down the lady starts saying that she could be julia ferret instead. This monologue is a dark comedy one.
I chose this monologue becuase its suits me as I'm you're comedy girl (: I find it funny so I've actually found a monologue that I like. I've impressed myself (:

tara's reply: Hi, Shroom. Thanks for your interest in the monologue. In "Ferret Envy", Jyoti has killed her roommate's ferret, in an effort to regain attention from Julia. The ferret, apparently, was taking up too much of Julia's attention and love, and so Jyoti took matters into her own hands. Of course, she is now caught by Julia, and has to explain why she has a bloody knife in her hand. Seeing that Julia does not react positively to this, and is now rather terrified by her, Jyoti is humiliated, ashamed and decides she will join Foozu in the metaphorical "Seattle"--i.e. death. So she plans to kill herself.
So obviously, there is the dark undertone to the whole piece, but it's in a sort of heightened world, so it remains a bit of a dark comedy, with the tragic consequence in the end.

From the story of Anne Frank, The main charactor is anne
frank (who shall be me) and the second character is peter van pels ( who isn't goig to be there but i shall be speaking to him -.-) My monologue is about,
Anne franks family is in hiding on a concentration camp and peters family comes and hides with them and during this time anne and peter become super close and she's just explaining to him. one day they get to see the sky and anne explains what she does when she can't stand being cooped up in a little office in hiding.
