Evaluation - First mark

The day that I was exited for! yes monologues, our auditions. wooo.
When I walked in it was atad scary I guess cause it's just you and two tutors But it's not as bad as everyone thinks it is, Either way you have to do you're monologues so just go for it.
I thought my 'ferret envy' went okish for the only reason I new I was speeding up with it I could feel it, But I did more action then the day I got up for my monologue infront of the 1st years.
My second monologue 'Anna Frank' thats got to be my best one I got feedback from goerga I apologise cause I know I've spelt you're name wrong anyhoo she said my voice was clear and there was a nice tone in it.
I know I didn't have any movement in it thats because when I try to stand up I end up looking like a man trying to get up so at last min I thought to myself Anna Frank isn't manly don't ruin her shroom!
I think I did this one the best cause I slowed it down but then again If you're nervous you end speeding up you're first one.
These two monologues I'm proud of for the only reason I've actually learn't them for once.
My third monologue 'The call' I know I haven't really learnt this one, I do remember kirsty who did say she wasn't going to do her third monologue because she hasn't learnt it *She got away with it* I, myself was going to do that as well, But then I thought to myself that I should just do it. my austrialian accent did go wrong Ha! But when I'm at home I can do it. But I have a feeling that I'm going to do in a british accent, sonya told me I have to learn the background. I used a chair for a pram thingy.
It's a good thing we get another chance of doing this. (:

Why I chose these monolouges

Why did I chose Anna Frank, At first I thought to myself that I wont be able to learn all three monlogues as last term I couldn't even learn one monologue. So I went out and looked for a simple also small monologue that I could learn in two weeks time which I did so. To me this monologue is suited to me, As I have a kinda posh voice! Plus it has no crying in it so I'm cool with that there's not alot of emotion in it either Which is good for my first monologue. SmileyHappyShroom

Why did I chose Ferret Envy, Well at first I needed a funny monologue because a shroom can't just not have a funny one. comedy is my thing I make people laugh It's my job I needed a longer one from my Anne Frank to make it more longer so it doesn't seen every monolouge I do is short, I also chose this for myself because I actually liked it I found it amusing (:

Why did I chose The Call,

Questions and answers - The call -patricia cornelius

Who wrote your audition monologue - Patricia cornellius

What do you think of their work?

Have you ever seen the performance of this play? I atually haven't As I've looked so much on youtube, there's this one where you cant even hear the girl saying anything plus she just sat there, so it wasn't helpful. Plus I did look it up on the internet but all I found was the book, with Patricia cornellius monologue work.

What style of performance do you think describes the play and monologue? It's ment to be a serious monologue Plus there is anger in it, There is some humour in it aswell. But I'm probs wrong as everything I try to do it ends up being funny.

If you could pick out three moments in the play that your monologues is from that shows your characters personality the best what would they be?

Who is your character talking to during their monologues?

Where exactly is your monologue set?

Questions and answers - Anne Frank

Who wrote your audition monologue - The diary of Anna Frank, adapted by francis goodrich and albert hackett.

What do you think of their work?

have you ever seen the performance of this play? No I haven't seen the play, but I looked up my monologue for anna frank. Theres not that many on youtube I found one but she wasn't that good her voice wasn't soft enough, plus she forgot a line. so I made it my own.

what style of performance do you think describes the play and monlogue? The monologue is a serious + Happy

if you could pick out three moments in the play that your monologues is from that shows your characters personality the best what would they be? At first I think anna frank is Rather happy she doesn't seem upset, considering shes in hiding I guess she wants to be free and have freedom, As I know they can go out in the back where there fenced in. She asks peter about Religon She believe that everyone is good at heart even the people doing bad things like hitler wanting to kill them all. She really wants to believe that everything is okay! she finds everything Lovely ot beautiful She wants to take it all in before she gets killed, as she knows It's going to happen soon.

who is your character talking to during their monologues? My character Anna Frank, was talking to boy called peter van pels. she's telling how lovely the sky is and talking about religon.

Questions and answers - Ferret envy

Who wrote your audition monologue? - Tara Meddaugh

What do you think of their work?

have you ever seen the performance of this play? I haven't seen it been done by the person who wrote it, I did e-mail her I'll copy and paste that part of the conversation we had. She told me to look on 'Youtube' for some, So I did so theirs different types of how it's been done I've got some idea's on how to perform it.

what style of performance do you think describes the play and monlogue? To me I did say it was a comedy but after I thought that I needed more help as I don't want to get a pass like I did last term I E-mailed the lady which she told me it's a twist also its a dark comedy cause she has killed a ferret but yet it had so much humour init.

If you could pick out three moments in the play that your monologues is from that shows your characters personality the best what would they be? First of my character is clearly a 'Liar' and is asking herself what would zana do? who is prolly a liar to if she's asking what she would do, I also think my charcter is 'Desparate' to please julia and to convince her that her ferret has ran away, My character told julia that the ferret had ran away so she becomes even more of a liar. My charater comes out with what she's done to the ferret at the end of it ''I'm going to just rinse this knife off and throw this little bag away'' It's obvious that she has killed the ferret. so my last word to decribe my character is 'Pysco'

who is your character talking to during their monologues? My character is talking to her room mate julia.

where exactly is your monologue set? My monologue is set in seatle, but I'm doing mine in a british accent. so I'm making out that I've just made seatle up of the top of my head.

Improvements of monologues

My voice is the number one improvement needed I go all panto with my voice which is annoying cause I've gome through them to my pals I've notice myself if I talk normal it just doesn't work theirs no reation to my audience, sinse it's a comedy it has to funny. I need to get that across or there's no real point to why I'm doing it. But noone understand little shroom, I'm not normal. enough of that my next thing is my spead.
I really need to slow down, Well really for my Anne Frank one caus thats the one thats 1min 05sec to make it longer I need to slow it down plus pause and stand up at some point cause if I sit down I think thats when i start speading up.

Lifes a Jurny.

GRID

Enunciation - I know fine well that people can understand me, I know how to prononce words I have a clear voice, you should know you're self that you can speak properly and prononce them you can hear you're self saying Plus you get feedback from sonya if she can't understand what you're saying she will say so.

Projection -  I know people can hear me, As I have a loud voice anyways, I make sure people can hear me if not then I have no confidance thats how I see it, If you're far to quiet then I'm guessing you're scared. Everybody gets feedback from this if noone can hear you and you have finished you're performance you have to improve on this.

Vocal tune and pece - Really need to work on thos, everytime I try I always speak sweet and soft sometimes posh but to be fair I'm sure everyone does thatbut I stand out more then others. darn my cool voice but i have tryed to change I'm not perfect and I shan't apologise for that! I just can't seem to get rid of the poshness, which bring me to the pace of my speach it needs sorting out as It's ment to be around 1min 30sec wile mine is 1min 05secs I guess I'll add much more pauses ha!

Memorising lines - 05-10-12 The day I learn't two monologues to me thats the biggest Iever! Just one more left to go. Wooo! I left the angry one last as thats going to be a challenge for me. the way I learn my lines are: Recorded myself = Everybus jurny I go on I listened to my Anna Frank on thats how I learned my first one. I did the same for ferret envy but then got bored of that, My second idea was just read it of paper on the bus over and over again! But as sonya say's you should act it out when rehearsing so I did so.

Experimenting in rehearsal - standing up and sitting down I don't like sitting in the same spot, which makes it awkward for me I'd rather be moving about dont wont to boar the people im performing to ha! I've added two chairs to my Ferret Envy monolouge si I have someone to talk to. I stand up at some point i need to change my voice! this is a example I won't do all three.

Focus/circle of public solitude -  I keep myself in a little place I dont take the whole stage as I dont need it. blnaking out the audiance is impossible for me. I know your thair simple as that. I dont have alot to say about this.

Character and text research - YOUTUBE, yes thats right youtube! Plus I email one of the creaters of one of my monolouges. ~(:

Enjoy - shroom
